Air Flow

Development of the AirFlow Deflector has involved many stages of designs and prototypes and is now at fifth generation.

Wind tunnel tests were performed at The National Research Centre in Ottawa. Highway field-testing was conducted in North Carolina, following the protocols of  The Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations. These trials were supervised by Volvo Trucks of North America.

The tests formally confirm that the AirFlow Deflector increases the co-efficient of air-flow around trailers by more than 6.8%. This factor effectively reduces turbulence and drag, which reduces both fuel costs and CO2 emissions.
